Breast Reduction Surgery Methods
Areola incision method
An incision is made at the edge line of the areolas, which is then concealed in the thick border line of the areolas, making the scar less noticeable. The purpose of this method is to reduce the skin around the areolas and mammary gland tissue. The areola incision method is typically recommended for patients with smaller breasts.
Vertical Incision
Long vertical incisions are made downwards to under the breast after the areolas are cut. This method is more effective than the areola incision method since it removes more breast tissue. It is a highly effective method for lifting the position of the areolas and breasts.
Inverted T-Shaped Incision
An inverted T-shaped incision can be used to treat macromastia and breast ptosis. This method is more effective in reducing the size of the breasts compared to other methods.
Under Breast Incision
There are no visible vertical scars as the incision is made both under the breasts and around the areolas. The method leaves minimal scarring on the areolas and mainly on the incision site under the breasts. This method is typically used for significant breast reductions in cases of macromastia.
